We like to think that we're just an ordinary couple, in our 50's, the kids are grown up, the mortgage is paid, work's very dull, the winters are hell, the pension will be a pittance...dotage and the chasm await.
When we were young we were always going to go traveling. You know the 'take off, over the horizon and see where it takes us' kind of thing.
Well here we are, about to do that 'kind of thing'. Travel to as many Mediterranean islands as possible and share it with the rest of the world.
Neither of us has any experience in travel writing, travel photography or making a living online but that's what we're hoping to do.
So many times in the past we have almost taken that 'giant leap'. Of faith, foolishness or experience. Only this time it's real.
This is our one chance, we've left it late but what have we to lose? At least we can say we tried. Life's about fun and happiness and the journey, right?
Most of the photographs are taken with a Canon 20e my pride and joy. An expensive investment that was agonised over but has proven itself to be a robust, flexible and an all round indispensable friend. This is supplemented by a Canon IXUS 700, small enough to carry everywhere with a large enough image size to print.
Don't expect f stops or technical info with the photos; I'm strictly a point and shoot photographer and another reason why I love my Canons so much. I encourage anyone to convert to digital, it really is a dream come true, limitless photographs, easily printed, stored and viewed.
